- This atrwork was provided with only one file per work of
- art as I believe that the desk top publisher wants quality
- more than quantity. Instead of supplying you with a great
- number of poor resolution drawings, the emphasis here is
- to supply you with high quality artwork that will look
- professional when incorporated into your published material.
-
-
- These 93 PCX format files are grouped in six categories
- to help you in sorting them.
-
- ANIMALS is a small group of six files as follows:
- Dove; 2 Eagles; Fish on a Stringer; A Lone Fish; and
- a Mare and Her Colt.
-
- MUSICAL is a small group of five files as follows:
- Grand Piano; Banjo; Guitar; Hunting Horn; Trumpet
-
- UTILITY is a group of nineteen files consisting of a
- variety of items such as:
- Pointing Hands (4); Compasses (2); Arrows (North &
- South); United Way Logo; US Flag; Bluecross Logo;
- Auction (2); Bibles (2); Boy Scout Logo (2); and
- several other files.
-
- OBJECTS contains a variety of things including:
- Candlesticks; Clocks; Checkbook; Telephone; Crown;
- Pitcher; Key; Boxing Glove; Moneybag; Calculator;
- Palmtree; Dice; Wheat Stalks; Roadblock and more.
-
- SCENES offers 32 files of various scenery pictures. Most
- are too hard to describe here, but include:
- Boats; Mountains; A Well; A Stormy Sea; An Old Castle;
- A Waterfall; Country Barns; Buildings; NY City
- Skyline; Hot Air Baloon; Lighthouse and many more.
-
- PEOPLE is a weak group of files including:
- A Poor Man in a Doorway; A Man in a Slum; A Sick Man;
- A Cleancut Man; People at a Picnic Table.
-
- All of these files should print out fine reguardless of
- how you resize the picture EXCEPT many of SCENES artwork.
- Much of the SCENES artwork employs the use of patterns
- in shading to obtain grayscales that can be printed on
- a dot matrix printer. If you resize the picture without
- maintaining its aspect ratio, the patterns are destroyed
- often resulting in tartan "bands". Many Desk Top
- Publishing (DTP) programs manuals discuss ways to avoid
- banding effects by maintaining the aspect ratio and by
- cropping the picture.
-
- All of the SCENES artwork will print out beautifully if
- you size the initial frame or box at 3.56 inches wide
- before importing the picture. The height seems to make
- less difference (I usually use about 2.5 inches). Read
- up on the scaling and cropping features of your DTP
- program to make the most out of the SCENES artwork. If
- you have any suggestions that would make this artwork
- easier to handle, please let me know so I can add the
- information to this disk.
